Many Internet marketing techniques begin with a keyword rich article.  A key rich article is an article written using keywords or keyword phrases, which are the words potential customers use when looking on the search boxes on the search engines for what they want or need.  The three major search engines – MSN, Google and Yahoo! – send out “feelers” in order to find keywords or keyword phrases and then rank the website according to a special formula.  Having a high ranking on the search engine webpages is beneficial to a website because the majority of people look to the Internet for what they want or need before looking anywhere else and that includes the phonebook.  This is known as search engine optimization or SEO.  Search engine optimization is a free automatic service from the major search engines to every Internet website on the World Wide Web.

Once a keyword rich article has been written, this same keyword rich article could be used in other marketing methods in order to raise the ranking on the search engines in addition to expanding a DC dentist’s customer database.  One of these other marketing methods includes an article exchange with a website that may or may not be relevant to dentistry.  For example, if Julius Peppers is one of your patients at a Washington, DC dentist office, and he agrees, then he or one of his staff could write article about a DC dentist’s office.  The DC dentist office could write an article about him as a patient and the articles could be exchanged and featured on each other’s websites.

Article exchanges are only one of the many things a keyword rich article could be used for.  For example, a keyword rich article can be placed on an Internet news website as long as it is well-written and informative. It does not have to be about news or anything new in the cosmetic dentistry industry.  However, if there is something new in the dentistry industry, that would be something good to write about and present to an Internet news websites.  Another often overlooked source to place pertinent information would be a blog.  There are millions and millions of themed blogs available to a dentist’s office for them to place the keyword rich article on in order to reach more potential customers.

Search engine optimization, themed blogs, Internet news websites and article exchanges are just a few of the many Internet marketing methods a DC dentist could employ to gain more customers to their real-world brick-and-mortar location.
