A St. Pete storage facility could increase their revenue by employing several different marketing methods, most of which are free or of little cost to the business to implement.
One of the best and well-known marketing methods a business could use its search engine optimization or SEO. Search engine optimization is the act of placing keyword rich articles on a website in order to attract the three major search engines – Yahoo!, Google and MSN. These major search engines send out “feelers” in order to locate the keywords and then rank the website according to a special formula. Keywords and keyword phrases are the words potential customers use in the search boxes on the search engines in order to find what they need or want. Having a high ranking on the search engine websites is beneficial to a business because the majority of people who use search engines choose from the top 10 website listings returned by the search engines.
Search engine optimization or SEO is a free and automatic service to all websites on the Internet sponsored by the three major search engines. This means that a storage facility’s competition is also vying for the top spot on the search engine webpages.
Another marketing method a storage facility could engage in would be a link exchange with another website and business that may or may not be relevant to the storage facility business and could just be geographically located nearer the storage facility or use their services. For example, a pawn shop that sell gold jewelry and small appliances, musical instruments, bicycles and DVDs and CDs might use a self storage facility to keep their extra merchandise in if they do not have room on their floor or in the back for storage. A link exchange between a pawn shop and a storage facility would bring in more customers from both websites and a paragraph or two written about each business would help to raise the ranking on the search engine webpages.
Yet another marketing technique would be site promotions of a company’s website in which they promote their website by all means possible. For instance, a St. Pete storage units company would put their website address on all business cards, return address labels, envelopes, letterhead paper and pulp paper products including promotional and discount coupons.
It is important for a real-world brick-and-mortar business to have an Internet presence because a lot of people who are looking for a business or service orientated company turned toward the Internet before any other media. This includes the local phone book, newspapers and magazines.
Marketing is an important part of any business and an employer should use a considerable amount of time marketing their company in order to receive more targeted customers to both their website and real-world brick-and-mortar location.
