DC Printers Printing Books, Magazines, Papers for Years to Come

Arlington printing companyAccording to several different research projects, it may be too soon to scrap the idea of print in favor of e-magazines or e-books.  Studies found that various age groups, especially older Americans, still believe in printed material which is good news for an Arlington printing company.

Many of these studies were done through libraries throughout the country, especially in university libraries but also in public libraries in which many had canceled subscriptions to various magazines and newspapers.  Generally speaking in the university libraries, the graduate students were more likely to print articles off the computer, presumably to read, than they were to read the same articles online.  Scores of younger students were found to simply sit and read the identical articles, even if they were longer, rather than print them out.  This may be attributed to a traditional occurrence, older students and older people are used to having paper in hand when reading or it could have something to do with eyesight and not wanting to read from the computer which could strain a person’s eyesight after only a few moments.

The younger generation may feel reading articles, books and papers on the computer is environmentally friendly because they are saving paper which saves trees; however they do have to reconcile themselves with the use of the extra electrical power.

Many visitors to the public libraries surveyed for the research projects complained of having to read their favorite magazines and newspapers online versus having them in hand.  People generally equate going to the library with books, not computers.

Having certain print materials in hand to refer back to as often as needed makes more sense than having to read them online.  Print materials such as employee handbooks, training manuals, brochures, coupons or invoices and statements which are all traditionally print material will probably always remain as printed products.

DC printers could continue to print items people of all ages will need such as certificates of completion, labels, brochures and booklets, promotional products like pens, pencils and coffee mugs and bonded scripts for theater or television.
