Many people bake cupcakes for bake sales and fundraisers because they are believed to be quicker and easier than sheet cakes or other style cakes. This maybe true, however digging out the cookie cutters and making some different shaped sugar cookies is often a bigger hit with people who attend fundraisers because they are more portable and seem to last longer than a couple of cupcakes.
Many college students like to bake cookies for their sorority or fraternity fundraiser events because cookies are great ‘on the go’ snacks that don’t always require a napkin. They can be eaten right out of the little plastic baggie or right out of the oven, once they have cooled enough. And cookies are cheaper to make than cupcakes, which require the purchase of cupcake paper holders that can often be expensive.
School fundraisers for various groups within the schools such as the band trying to raise money for new uniforms or a trip to Disney World, could also benefit from a fundraiser bake sale in which a Mickey Mouse cookie cutter was used to not only cut out the cookies, but also use on construction paper to make creative signs to hang all around the school for attention grabbing announcements of the bake sale.
Many junior and senior high school students have parties in which they revert back to childhood themes such as Disney, especially for a milestone birthday such as a sweet sixteen or when someone turns 18. Making Disney cookies using Mickey mouse cookie cutters or any of the Disney characters can be a fun and interesting way to treat friends to a delicious snack while playing games or watching a movie.
Cookies could not only be made into different shapes with various cookie cutters, they could also be made with different ingredients depending on what a person’s mood is. Sugar cookies are what shaped cookies are best known for because the dough is easier to roll out flat to accommodate the cookie cutters. However, one could put raisins or nuts in their cookie dough for a little something extra and still be able to cut out the cookies with a cookie cutter.
