DC Cosmetic Dentist Performs Different Dental Procedures; Clean, Healthy Teeth

Cosmetic dentist in DC typically performs dental procedures such as tooth whitening or veneers, orthodontics and some extractions that lead to replacement teeth.

Veneers are small, vinyl individual tooth covers which go over each tooth in order to cover up stains and help to straighten the look of teeth. They are cemented on the top of clean teeth with a special adhesive or bonding agent that is formulated to last, with normal wear and tear, for as long as you have your teeth. A sedation dentist is able to use a solution, typically a ‘laughing gas,’ to help put people at ease when they are at the dentist about to have a procedure done. Many people request a dentist be a sedation dentist because they are fearful of the dentist. Dental phobia is a real fear and strikes millions of people each year.

In addition to the sedation, many of the dentists who perform various procedures on phobic patients teach them relaxation or meditation techniques in order to occupy their minds with other thoughts instead of what is about to happen in their mouth.
