Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) is a W3C standard mark-up language for defining the appearance of web pages. The use of CSS allows developers to fully separate the content of the page from its presentation, speeding up the development process and also making the pages load more quickly in the browser. Whereas 20th century websites typically used tables to construct web pages and position elements, CSS now provides a cleaner and more efficient way of controlling all aspects of web page layout.
The range of computer users who have some involvement in building web pages and web sites is vast and a good many of these users choose Dreamweaver as the software tool that helps them create the web content they need without needing to become an expert on underlying technologies such as CSS. Dreamweaver CS3 includes better support for Cascading Style Sheets than previous versions. However, there is still room for improvement.
One of the most noticeable changes in this the latest version of Dreamweaver is that users are now positively encouraged to create web pages using CSS for page layout rather than tables. Each time a new web page or template is created, Dreamweaver offers you a choice of basing the page on one of about thirty preset CSS layouts with names like “3 Column Elastic” and “3 Column Fixed”.
Pages created using CSS rely heavily on the use of the HTML DIV element, a multipurpose container of web content. Choosing one of the Dreamweaver CSS presets creates a page containing a series of DIV elements complete with placeholder text and the CSS code necessary to control the position and dimension of the DIVs. The placeholder text and HTML code both contain brief explanations of the techniques used and advice on how to customise these basic pages for your own purposes.
CSS works most efficiently when you can place all of your CSS code in one external file and link that file to each of your HTML pages. Dreamweaver CS3 still does not make it easy for inexperienced users to create CSS-based pages in this way. If the user creates ten web pages based on Dreamweaver’s preset CSS designs, each will have its own code embedded within the page itself. There is, however, a great feature for moving embedded code across to an external CSS file. You just select a series of CSS definitions, right-click and choose “Move CSS Rules” which is available in the “CSS Styles” section of the context menu.
This ability to move blocks of CSS is an excellent feature but one has to ask if new users will see its significance and actually use it. The fact is that, given the increasing importance of CSS and Dreamweaver’s role as the fledgling developers best friend, the program could use some improvement in the way it handles CSS.
It is also disappointing that Dreamweaver still automatically generates CSS styles called “style1″, etc. each time the user applies a font or colour to selected text. Surely it would be easier to simply remove these basic attributes and just let the user either apply a style to the selection or, if no styles exist, create a new one. Perhaps this will be introduced in the next release of this excellent program.
Advertising your site on search engines like google is not free, since every click you get costs you money.
Using search engine optimization, you can make your web pages appear higher in the search engine results pages, so people will find you, and click over to your website, without having to pay the search engines a dime.
You may have heard of this Page Rank thing. It is a google score between 0 and 10, and the higher the number, the better your page is. No one really knows how PageRank is scored, not even Larry Page (one of the key guys at Google). I can show you some simple things you can do to get better search engine rankings, and a better Page Rank.
Does that sound cool? It’s easy stuff, and let’s get into it straight away.
1. Have other sites link to your pages using keywords.
Having a lot of other sites pointing to your site is a surefire way to get the attention from the search engines. If those links use words that people search for, you have a shot at getting on the results pages of the search engines.
One way to do this is with article marketing (see my other articles). You simply write a short informative article, include an author box with a hyperlink back to your website, using a keyword you know people search for. Then you submit this article to many article directories.
2. Make sure your keyword is in the title tag.
The title tag is what is at the top of your browser when people visit your page. Your keyword should be there.
3. Include your keyword in your headline.
The headline is the big text on your web page. It is the “H1″ tag, if you look at the code for your page. Your page should have only one big headline, and your keyword should be in it.
4. Make sure other related keywords are on your page.
Some folks call this semantic indexing, but you can ignore those big words, and simply write meaningful stuff on your page, and you will have related words that tell the search engines that this is stuff that humans should see.
5. Look at the source of your web page, and remove codes.
Get the programming mumbo jumbo out of your html files, and put it in another file. Things like javascript and “css” mess up the search engine spiders that come and index your pages, so put that stuff on other files, and include it in one small line of code. That way, there is no chance of messing up the bots when the come to visit.
6. Put the full link to your internal HTML pages.
If you have other pages you want to list in the search engines, include that HTTP colon slash slash stuff with your links. This tells google and the other engines that this other page is worth listing on their search engine results.
7. Update your site frequently.
By keeping things new on your website, it means you have active dynamic content, which the search engines love. So keep things maintained and updated, and your rankings in the “SERPS” will rise steadily.
Try these tips out, and watch your search engine results rise higher and higher. It is simple when you know what to do.
What is the definition of SEO web design? By definition SEO stands for search engine optimization. Search engine optimization is a complex process that depends on many factors that calculate the position of a website. Most SEO companies usually only do search engine optimization to a currently designed website. Furthermore, web design companies only do web design and simply do not have the knowledge of SEO. But a group of Texas Web Designers from “Reach A Web” have mastered both!
You may find yourself left with either a website that looks really nice but with a bad search engine placement, or a website that was designed by someone and the search engine optimization Company that you hired has placed a bunch of ugly keywords and content that ruined your design. Why shouldn’t you have the both of them? This question can simply be answered with one word: Redesign. Redesign your website using a company that knows how to do both from the ground up. You have to start from the bottom up again, but this time do it right. The Texas Web Designers of Reach A Web can do the job right.
Do not limit yourself to a website that offers very little of either looks or exposure. You own a great business or idea and you should have both exposure and the presentation to secure your next client!
Unlike many SEO companies that charge upwards of $2000.00/mo, these Texas web designers love their work and charge “overseas out source prices” for work completed done in Texas. Many times, you come out with a complete web design and SEO package for under $4000.00. If you do the math, a custom website will cost you somewhere around $3,500.00. Add another $600.00 for your initial SEO report. In addition, you have another $600.00/mo for 6 months of SEO to worry about. That is a total of $7,700.00 and you are not happy with the final look of your website and not to mention you are not too sure if the SEO work was done ethically and correctly. Why take that chance and the financial loss that comes with it?
Let’s face it; SEO companies are not web design companies in nature. Those expertises are divided in two: SEO specialists and Web Design specialists. That is of course until you find a company that is truly good at both. The Texas web designers at REACH A WEB are the one of the few groups that can do both. They listen, care, and deliver with excellence.
Take a deep breath and think. Think about your web presence as a whole. Think about your presentation. Are you getting the most out of your website? Probably not! Don’t sell yourself short on either end of the stick. Your website today is your store tomorrow. Find web designers that can accomplish both, sharp web design and SEO from the ground up. You simply won’t be sorry!
Any type of web development project is going to be an important, necessary, and pricey job. This is especially true for small businesses, who are dependent upon new clients to keep their services up and running. One way to “sink and reel” new clients in is to have a great online website design, along with a functional web development application.
Companies that specialize in web development and design are offering an invaluable service to small businesses. Small business owners won’t be able to create their own designs due to time constraints, and certainly won’t be able to sacrifice many weeks of learning just to get a website up and running. In this sense, the fees of a web designer are very well justified.
Sophisticated designs are important for a small business, so as to not “scare” any potential clients away due to a lack of intelligent design. Thus, small businesses should tell web designers who are consulting for them to keep things clean, simple, and functional. Anything more might be a burden to potential clients. It’s very possible to drive away extra profits simply because a design was too gaudy.
Small businesses also need a way to keep in contact with clients. Web development isn’t all for show, as it can also give small business owners a way to come into contact with clients via online applications. A contact form is the simplest matter to be addressed, so that that all questions or comments can be returned in a prompt manner.
One interesting part of web design to remember is that one is going to pay a lot more for web design if they go to a physical location as compared to consulting an online entity for a web design job. There is more competition on the Internet, which makes rates more competitive. Physical locations are also able to raise prices to those who aren’t familiar with online technologies, simply because they don’t know any better.
Web design and development is a big money-maker for those who take part in it, but don’t expect to cut too many costs in the process. A cheap web design service will give you exactly what you pay for, while the “big dogs” will have a service that is on par with big business designs. In the end, one can easily spend hundreds to thousands of dollars, depending on what is requested by the small business owner.

A good thing to take from this is to simply shop around, especially over the Internet. Some services are more expensive than others, so try to find a median between prices and contact the web design company for a portfolio. Once all is said and done, marketing can be done to bring all sorts of new clients in.
Accessibility, in the context of websites, refers to the degree to which the content you add to your web site can be accessed by your audience; all of them, not just the able bodied ones and those with 20/20 vision. Accessible websites offer good support for screen readers, cater for users who browse the web without viewing graphics and who wish to magnify the text on your pages to a level comfortable for their eyesight.
There are a number of features within Dreamweaver which help web developers ensure that their pages are accessible. The program can be set up so that it will automatically offer you a series of accessibility options whenever you add an image, media element or form field to a page. There is also a built-in utility which you can use to check whether your pages contain elements which are not accessible.
Dreamweaver’s program settings contain two main features relating to accessibility. To access these settings, choose Edit – Preferences (or Dreamweaver – Preferences) on a Mac. Next, click on the Accessibility category and activate the options which to display attributes for form objects, media (which refers to such things as video clips, audio and Flash) and graphics. It is also useful, in the General category, to switch on the option to use CSS instead of HTML tags.
So what is the result of switching on these various preferences? Well, firstly, Dreamweaver will use CSS tags whenever you format text or the background of the page. The CSS tags contain the formatting information and will be placed in the head area of the page away from the content which will be in the page body. The program will also display a dialog box with accessibility options each time you insert an image, form field or media element such as a Flash movie or video clip.
When you add an image to any page, you will see a dialog box which invites you to enter the alternate (alt) text. You should key in a brief description of the image. This alt text will be displayed in the browser if the image itself is not displayed, for example, when the user has deactivated the display of images. Screen readers will also speak your alt text whenever an image is encountered.
In addition to the alt text, Dreamweaver also allows you to browse for or enter a path leading to a long description file. This option relates to HTML’s longdesc attribute which should be used for images whose content is too detailed or too important to be described in the short alt text.
When the accessibility options relating to forms are active, Dreamweaver will display a dialog of options every time a form or form element is added to the page. The first set of options relates to the addition of the LABEL tag which serves to associate descriptive text labels with the form control to which they relate. The dialog also allows you to specify the order in which elements will be accessed by pressing the Tab key on the keyboard.
When a media element, such as a Flash movie, video or sound clip is inserted on a page, Dreamweaver will prompt the user to enter a title, access key and tab index. The title provides information regarding the media element in much the same way as alt text does for images. Access key offers users who find use of the mouse difficult an alternative method of accessing the media element using a keyboard shortcut. The tab index allows the creator of the page to specify the order in which elements on the page can be activated by using the Tab key.
Dreamweaver not only gives you help in making your page content accessible, it will also check your pages to see if they contain elements which are not accessible. To use the accessibility utility, click on the File menu then on Check Page and finally on Accessibility. The utility runs and then displays a list of elements on the page which are not accessible. If you double-click on any of the items in the list, the code representing it will be instantly highlighted allowing you to edit it.
Watching videos is very easy and can be fun as well. I am one of those persons that learns easier by watching videos than by reading books. Its because videos are less boring I guess. The thing is that whenever I can learn things from watching videos, I do give it preference especially when I am going to learn useful things.
One time I was surfing the web and I was able to find a website which to me is very visually appealing and contains very useful videos but before I tell you about this website, first let me tell you that I am a coder in a freelance website called Rent a Coder. In these times of high energy prices, along with wages that just don’t quite cover everything we need; many people are looking for alternative ways, to either save money or make extra money, to ease the pinch at the pump. The media has been full of news about people who used to commute long distances trying to save gasoline costs by working at home instead, or by adopting the four-day work week which gives them an extra day of spare time for earning extra money. And many have taken advantage of that extra free time by getting into the freelance business. They have discovered that online freelance work, as either a coder or a buyer, is the alternative answer they were looking for.
But how are they finding the jobs they are doing for that extra money? Well, first of all, they are using one of the many free online freelance job services like Rent A Coder (RAC) to find their freelance work-at-home jobs as coders. They are even starting their own home businesses as buyers by posting job requests to find coders to do work for them. These Now-At-Homes are becoming potential employers finding potential employees just like you in a virtual world that knows no international boundaries. And everyone on board is reaping the benefits of extra income and energy savings.
But what’s the gold if you can’t take care of the gold? What’s the gold if you can lose it? Isn’t that what is happening to many people that work in Rent a Coder? They work in Rent a Coder but all of a sudden start to get bad ratings and then they decide to leave the website and stop working as freelance programmers. Is not easy to succeed if you don’t have some kind of guidance. That’s is why another website was created that is called RACsuccess. Its a very interesting website that I found on the tools page inside Rent a Coder. It offers both coders and buyers so many good services to help them take the most of Rent a Coder so that they can not only take care of the gold but also to help them multiply their “gold” (their income).
So if you really want to learn the tricks of a successful person when it comes to bidding on projects or when it comes to attracting only the good coders, RACsuccess has also an amazing package of videos and very informative guides that gives you deep insights on how to really succeed in Rent a Coder. This package is not only for beginners, is an official Rent a Coder tool and teaches you tricks and tips that you really need to know!

RACsuccess wants everyone to feel happy about working from home by seeing positive results while working in Rent a Coder. RACsuccess is that company that is supporting so many coders and buyers of Rent a Coder already.
RACsuccess was created and founded by Luis Lazo who is a coder and buyer with years of experience. Products and services everywhere, the Internet is completely surrounded by electronic items, products to sell, websites everywhere, those Google searches the majority of times return tons of results. That’s because there are many people who need those products. You have probably bought items on the Internet already and you know the satisfaction it feels when you buy a product that actually does what you expect it to do. You care a lot about the products you get from companies but you don’t care that much about companies themselves.
That’s fine, you are doing nothing bad. That’s how things are actually, shoppers want the best products no matter from where they can get them.
There are many services online but I want to talk to you about one: RACsuccess. I want to talk to you about how RACsuccess purpose is to help buyers and coders of Rent a Coder.
No matter where you go, you will always find different people that act and behave differently. Some people are very dedicated to their work, others like to talk while they work, others like to have some “free time”. Even on big companies these things can happen.
Rent a Coder is a very reputable company and offers so many things to freelance programmers in order to help them in achieving their goal: Do projects to please buyers. However, not all coders in Rent a Coder give their best or use those tools appropriately. That’s how things work in the real business world and that’s how things are on the Internet as well.
Coders that don’t meet deadlines, communicate improperly, that don’t care that much about working on the projects they have been assigned always make buyers ask: “What happened with my project”? and coders usually reply: “The dog ate my homework”. I don’t even ask you if you know what this phrase means. I am pretty sure that you have heard this expression before.
The time of the breakthrough has come. It’s time for buyers to be able to choose coders only from the “white” pool which represents all the great coders that work in Rent a Coder. The RACsuccess package is really that amazing product that is helping so many buyers out there to select the good coders from the bad, that informs them about how to deal with coders positively, and to help them get exactly what they are expecting from them and much more!
Luis Lazo who is the owner of RACsuccess created the RACsuccess package which is an application that is really working “miracles” in the life of so many buyers in Rent a Coder. It has even become one of Rent a Coder official tools and it can be found on Rent a Coder’s tools page. Luis Lazo shares many of his experiences as a buyer with you to show you how you can become a successful buyer in Rent a Coder. This is definitely information that you need.
This product is a software application that has come to totally change perspectives on the way many buyers work in Rent a Coder. Its an amazing tool that should be in any Rent a Coder buyer’s tool kit. Through the RACsuccess package, you access two written guides, one for buyers and one for coders but wait, that’s not all! You also get videos specifically designed for buyers. Videos are big in resolution and Luis Lazo’s shares his experiences as a buyer with you right there inside Rent a Coder.
———————————————————————————————————————— Luis Lazo has been in touch with more than 200 projects while working in Rent a Coder both as a buyer and as a coder. Ian Ippolito who is the owner of Rent a Coder liked his idea of creating a product that would improve the way freelancing is often approached in RAC. He guarantees that with the product that he created: the RACsuccess package, anyone both experienced or new to Rent a Coder will be able to improve the way they work with projects as coders and the way they request projects as buyers.
In order to take your online business to the next level it is crucial that you have a website that not only looks great but which visitors will find easy to navigate as well. If you intend to use the services of a Wilmington web design or an internet marketing Delaware company it is important that you keep certain things in mind as you carry out your search.
One of the first decisions you need to make before you start searching for any web design company is the amount of money you can afford to invest in this aspect of your business. Remember the first thing that any potential new customers to your business well be in contact with is your website. Those sites that look professional are ones that are going to be able to gain their visitors trust more easily and of course the chances of them purchasing from that site are greatly increased.
There are some companies who design sites relatively cheaply but this companies often use a standard type of website design which has been used by hundreds of other website owners. Plus as you will soon discover plenty of problems arise in relation to the way that these sites function simply because they are mass produced.
Although you may spend tens of thousands of dollars on having a great website designed and built for you it doesn’t always mean they are going to be any better than the mass produced ones. There are plenty of people online today who say that they design websites will take your money and then produce something that you could have actually produced yourself. So spend time investigating the various web design services you are considering using before you actually hire one.
In this article we offer some advice with regards to what you should be looking for when trying to select the right Wilmington web design or internet marketing Delaware service for your business.
1. One of the first things you need to do is contact those web design services that you have placed on a short list (phone or email). Then wait to see how long it takes them to respond to you after making first contact with them. Just because they haven’t contacted you within the first 48 hours does not mean that they are not interested. It could be because they are too busy, they are understaffed or their business is completely disorganized. If it is either of the second too then this is a time to think about using another service instead.
2. Once you have made contact with the companies that you are interested in using to help design and build a website for you spend some time looking through their portfolio. Most companies today offer the facility on their own website to check out projects that they have carried out previously. Spend time also looking at the levels of service that they offer and choose the one that is best for you and which fits into your budget. Although they offer something that is cheap unfortunately the site itself will look cheap, instead spend a little more on getting something that really does display your business well.
3. Another way to test if a web design service really does know what it is doing is through spending time looking closely at their own website. What is the design like, what level and quality of content does it contain and just how user friendly is the site to navigate around. Certainly a service where their site looks great and is easy to use will ensure that they are a web design service that can create the exact same for you.
