Articles should be broken up into short paragraphs and adjust your text so it is easy to read–not too small nor too light. Difficult in reading the content will discourage a visitor from continuing.

Now that you have a means to add to your opt-in list by way of your website, you also need to build your list in other ways, especially if you don’t yet have too many hits on your site. That takes time but by building your list you will increase them.
1. Advertise a free ebook. You can have it downloaded from your site as mentioned before or you could have the visitor send you an email and you could attach the ebook to an answering one. This ebook doesn’t have to be more than 7-10 pages.
Advertise your newsletter and send responders to your list via your autoresponder, which will take care of the opting in, and startup of your emails. Be sure any email, whether yours or your autoresponders has an opt-out feature.

5. You may be able to keep some of those who are ready to make a change. You won’t gain any new subscribers really but you may be able to keep some of those you might otherwise lose. Let them know that you are proficient in different areas.
As you can see building your opt-in list need not be difficult. Use your imagination and I am sure that you can find many other means to get results.

The internet is a marketers dream. Here you have an audience that runs into the hundreds or even thousands of millions. All you need to do is get your slice of the action. I’ll discuss that in another article.
To get your slice of the internet cake, how can you set up a site to take payments? How can you do so on a tight budget?
It’s not really difficult and very affordable for even the beginner to set up a site that can receive payments.
So how do you go about it?
The first requirement would have to be a good web host. I would suggest a cheap host not a free host. I don’t mean cheap and nasty. There are plenty of good deals to be found. The other reason you don’t want to use a free web hosting provider is you don’t want their advertising on your site.
Now that you have your hosting account, the next thing you need is your payment processor.
You will also need the software to make your pages.
Finding a good web hosting provider is your first job. Here are some things to look for:
Can you run a number of domains on the one account? The more the better. How many subdomains can you have? Over time you will want to promote more products. Each of these products would need a new domain or subdomain.
Will you be able to run CGI scripts as well as PHP? How many databases will you be allowed to use. Most PHP scripts use MySql databases. This is what makes your sites dynamic. These are all questions you need to get answers to in order to decide on a web hosting provider.
Then we need our payment processors. We’ll just look at three. These are the most popular among internet marketers, they are also very affordable. Would free be cheap enough?
PayPal is the first of these. You can join PayPal for free and begin receiving payments. Their income comes from the small percentage they take when the sale is made. Their payment system uses email to pay to. It is wise to set up an email account just for payments. Your hosting account should allow you a number of email addresses.
2checkout.com is another secure payment processor you could use. Many internet marketers use this payment processor. Most will use all three. This one has a setup fee of $50.00 and then charges a small fee for each sale you make.
The last on this list is ClickBank. ClickBank is free to join. It has a huge list of affiliate products that you could choose to promote. If you wish to become a vendor, selling your products using ClickBank you will need to pay a setup fee. This is about $50.00. ClickBank also charges a small percentage for each sale that is made through them.
All of these sites generate a code for you to use on your sales page where you want the buy now button. PayPay and 2Checkout.com both provide code you place into the HTML of the page. Clickbank generates a URL you can then link to a button on your page.
As you can see, setting up your own e commerce web site is not real difficult and is very affordable.
Choosing the right web host is a little like choosing the right shop for your business. In saying this I don’t mean location but size and facilities. We will discuss location in another article.

How much disk space do you need on the server?
How much room (disk space) do you need. Here it is wise to get whatever you can afford. Most websites will run on just a few MB. But it is wise to allow for future expansion. Do you plan to run a membership site with lots of downloads? Here you may find that 500MB may mot even be enough. You will find that there are plenty of hosting providers that offer up to 1GB for very reasonable rates.
What is Bandwidth?
Basically it is the uploading and downloading from your site. Each time you get a visitor to your site they view your site page or pages depending on how many they view. Each time a page is downloaded or viewed by your visitor they are using bandwidth. Hosting companies will limit the amount of bandwidth you use. This information has appeared on your visitors computer because their computer has downloaded the information. This downloading is calculated and is called bandwidth. The more bandwidth you have the more surfers you can have without having to pay additional fees. You should always be able to upgrade to a bigger package and get more. Several companies also offer unlimited accounts.
Will You Require A Database?
The short answer is yes. In fact you will need to make sure that you can run a number of databases. There are many web applications that require a database to run. Let’s say you want to have a Blog on your site. You could download the free script from Wordpress. To install it you need a database. There are so many applications that require databases that you should consider at least getting 5 or 6 available as a minimum.
Which Control Panel?
There are a number of diverse ones used by hosting companies. There are two that stand out for simplicity of use. You need to be able to easily know how to use them. The two I like best are Direct Admin and cPanel. Both are first-rate. Many webmasters avow cPanel. I personally prefer Direct Admin better, I think it is the easiest to utilize. The control panel is where you work at the back of your site. Here you will be able to set up email accounts, new databases and much more.
Other Things You Need To Look For
There are add-ons that you should expect from your hosting provider. One important one is a site creator. Does the hosting account come with an easy to use site builder? One of the easiest to use in the industry is the Drag And Drop site creator. This is a really powerful creator being able to create dynamic PHP sites.
Some hosts also provide a members area with marketing information and free downloads. Many of these down loadable products could be useful in setting up your new site.
Location is everything. At the start of this article I mentioned location. Your web host is not responsible here. Location is completely up to you. You create the location by SEO (Search Engine Optimization). There are many things you can and need to do to increase the traffic to your site. This is another subject we will deal with at a later date.
